Best Carrier Oils for Normal, Dry, and Oily Skin Types | Vibe 320

Vibe 320’s Unscented Line consists of three carrier oil blends - one for Normal, Dry and Oily skin types. 

All natural plant based ingredients are used in each blend. The Unscented Line does not include essential oils in the blends. Therefore, this line is great for persons with eczema, psoriasis, or sensitive skin. 

                       What are Carrier Oils?

Carrier oils are vegetable oils derived from a variety of nuts, seeds, fruits, or plants. Carrier oils have their own skin care benefits and are used to dilute essential oils and carry them to your skin.

High quality carrier oils are unadulterated, organic and cold pressed. Different carrier oils can have different uses and properties. They are loaded with essential fatty acids and vitamins that help nurture skin health and promote healing and preventing scarring. Most carrier oils are unscented or lightly scented. 

    Now, let’s review the carrier oils used in Vibe 320’s Unscented Line. These carrier oil blends can be used to delete dilute essential oils for aromatherapy, massage, skin care and hair care. Things to consider when determining which carrier oils to use include: skin type and the carrier oil profile.

                                  Jojoba Oil

Jojoba is a native shrub of the extreme hot temperatures of the Southwest United States. 

Although jojoba oil has the appearance and feel of oil, it is actually a wax ester that has been expeller pressed from the jojoba seed. It is rich in vitamins C, B, and E, selenium, copper, zinc and fatty acids that aid in improving skin, nail and hair health.  

Despite its thick appearance it has a fast absorption rate and does not clog pores or greasy residue on the skin. 

It has a slightly nutty fragrance and is suitable for most skin types.

Jojoba oil closely mimics sebum, the natural oil produced by the skin. Jojoba oil balances sebum production by tricking the skin oil glands into producing the needed oil according to skin type - producing more sebum naturally for dry skin and reducing sebum production for oily skin.

This oil was selected as a carrier oil in each of the three blends because of the skin healing, balancing and moisturizing properties it provides. As a result, Unscented Line is suitable for massage oils, face moisturizers, and bath oils, among other things.

Sweet Almond Oil

Originally from Southwestern Asia, almonds are now vastly produced in California. 

The oil is extracted via cold press.This oil has a sweet and strong nutty aroma and is slightly pale in color. It comes in the category of average in terms of thickness and absorption rate but works amazingly well for all skin types. It easily spreads onto the skin and at the same time does not feel too greasy.

Sweet almond oil contains a broad range of nutrients essential for skin, hair and nails due to its high concentration of vitamin E, fatty acids, proteins, 

People with extremely dry or sensitive skin will benefit from this additional moisturizing treatment, and the scent will ensure that you smell great as well!

Almond oil is a fantastic moisturizer for dry skin. It has a high concentration of vitamins, especially Vitamin E, which is excellent for hydrating and nourishing the skin, resulting in a healthy shine.

Almond oil is fantastic for easing dry or irritated skin since it has a wide range of calming properties. It is extremely hydrating and penetrates deep into the skin fast, making it an excellent choice for dry skin.Additionally, almond oil is a deep conditioner for damaged hair, which is a nice addition.

The antioxidants in vitamin E heals the damage to the collage and skin cells. It acts as a barrier against the environmental pollution and UV rays. Vitamin E slows down the aging process and provides a radiant skin. 

Sweet almond oil has anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal properties and it is used to treat variety of skin concerns like psoriasis, eczema, nail or feel fungal infections, acne and others.

Grapeseed oil

Grapeseed oil has a neutral smell and is derived from grape seeds.

Grapeseed oil is a light oil that is easily absorbed by the skin without leaving a greasy feeling. 

It is a good moisturizer. It is an excellent carrier oil for essential oils, and it may be used to produce body oils and massage oils.

The vitamin E in grapeseed oil may help lessen the appearance of acne scarring.

“The linoleic acid in this oil helps with acne because of its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, so some people use it to treat breakouts.” Also, Due to the fact that it is a moderate astringent and has antibacterial qualities, it is a great choice for oily or acne-prone skin types.

Grapeseed oil as the name indicates comes from the seeds of grapes. It is actually a byproduct of grape wine. Due to its robust beauty effects, it is now regarded as an important product for skin, hair and nail care.

It has a light consistency that is friendly for every skin type and it also operates as a great carrier oil. The texture is smooth and works for acne prone skin by not leaving any greasy residue and has a quick absorption rate. Like many carrier oils this pale green oil also does not have a strong aroma.

Vitamins, minerals and fatty acids found in grapeseed oil are great for skin, hair and nail health.

Apricot oil

Apricot kernel oil is extracted from apricot seeds/kernels. Apricot oil is an emollient oil that is high in fatty acids and vitamin E.

 It dries quickly and has a somewhat sweet, nutty fragrance. Apricot kernel oil is said to be beneficial in softening and soothing irritated, itchy skin. It can be used as a carrier oil for massage oils, bath oils, and hair care products.

Avocado Oil

Avocado, a popular fruit that are originally from South Mexico but are now available all around the world.

The oil of avocado is greenish yellow color and is odorless. The consistency of it is slightly on the heavier side but the absorption rate is quick. Avocado oil is a great moisturizer high in omega-3 fatty acids, as well as vitamins A, D, and E.

Olive Oil

Olive oil has a strong aroma and dark green color "filled with chlorophyll, a known antibacterial and is obtained by the pressing of olives. 

This golden yellow oil is extracted from the fruit known as olive. Olive trees have been a large crop of the Mediterranean region. 

It has a fruity and vegetable natural scent and it comes under the oils having medium consistency but it absorbs into the skin without giving a feeling of grease which makes it an effective oil for all skin types. It acts as a great carrier oil, diluting the essential oils without compromising its own eminence. 

It has a high concentration of fatty acids. This oil may be used as a carrier oil for massage, face cleansers, hair care, and handmade soaps, to name a few applications.

Olive oil provides skin with hydration and its emollient property helps to lock in the moisturizer for longer duration, leaving the skin softer, smoother and fresh looking.

The combination of hydrating effect and antioxidants helps in disappearing scars and stretch marks.
